The Love Snake

I am calling this little guy my snake of love. This is my 3 year old's snake. It's has tiny little wooden pieces glued together so it can move. He loves to play with it and because of that some of the pieces of wood had come off. He took it with him when we went over to my aunt and uncle's house a little while ago. My aunt called my and said that they would drop it by sometime. They came over the other night and brought it back to us. But the snake looked different. It wasn't missing any pieces!! My amazing uncle had taken the time to meticulously cut out tiny pieces of wood and glue them back in place. But that wasn't all. He even took a marker and colored the pieces so they would match the rest of the snake.
How many of us would have even have thought to do that? I would have given the snake back the way it was. But he didn't. He is so thoughtful and loving and kind. I'm sure for him it was a simple act of kindness but to me it meant far more than that. It was an act of love and it came at a time that I really needed to feel that. I honestly am overwhelmed that he would take the time to fix this toy. I am going to keep this snake forever as a reminder of what love and service really mean to me. It taught me that I need to pay more attention to the little things. I need to look for opportunities to serve and to show love. I need to fix more "snakes." Thank you so much Sam for showing love to us. I love you guys so very, very much!
