5 on Friday...A Few Days Late...AGAIN

Seriously?  Where does the time go?  I can't continue to do this!  I'll be better, I promise.  Maybe I should set an alarm on my phone!  So here goes nothing...

Top 5 for the week:

1.  My 11 year old daughter was in a parade the day after Thanksgiving.  She walked it with her musical theater group.  I waited in the 10 degree weather for her and it was so worth it.  Then we got to warm ourselves up in the mall with a performance by their group.  It was the first time I saw her perform.  I have a confession though...when I saw her walking in the parade I totally cried.  I was so proud.  She looked so big and grown up.  I am a crier.  But I managed to not cry at the mall.  She's so funny.  When I told her I cried watching her at the parade she said that she didn't see because I had sunglasses on.  Thank goodness for that!

2.  Thanksgiving was fun this year.  We went to my husband's parents house for dinner.  The food was delicious and it was so fun to watch the cousins play together.  I love my nieces and nephews and it was so fun to see them too!

3.  I went to Time Out For Women.  It's put on my Deseret Book.  It's a conference for women.  It was a MUCH needed break and weekend away.  Even though it was downtown Salt Lake City and not too far from our houses, we got a hotel room for the night.  The speakers were amazing and so uplifting and inspiring.  The musical performances were awesome too.  We all had such a fun time.  I went with my husband's mom, sisters and 2 of her friends.  I can't wait to go next year.  Thanks to my sweet hubby for holding down the fort so I could go.

4. We started decorating for Christmas.  We have the tree up and there are presents under it already.  That's HUGE for me.  I usually wait until the last minute to shop and wrap the presents.  This is the FIRST year that I have actually shopped WAY early.  When I told my mother in law that I had not only shopped but wrapped the presents too she just about fainted.  OK, not really but she was mighty impressed.

5.  It's snowing right now.  I LOVE the snow.  I love watching it snow.  I love seeing everything covered in white.  It's so beautiful.  I've lived in Utah 12 1/2 years now and still am not sick of the snow.  The inversions are another story...I HATE those.

Bottom 5

1.  I lost my debit card again.  I think I left it in an ATM again.  So we had to order new cards again.  Are you seeing a pattern here?  I do this a lot.  I think this is the third time I've left it in an ATM.  Oops!

2.  My house is a wreck.  It's the story of my life.  One day...it WILL be clean.  It's "clean."  But it's just cluttered with crap.  I so need to de-junk.  Maybe that will be my next little big project I'll blog about.

3.  I got another shot in my foot.  This time my husband was there to hold my hand, or let me squeeze the heck out of his hand.  I'm just so happy to be making progress.  I still have physical therapy once a week.  I won't complain about that since each week I get a hot paraffin wax treatment!

4.  Am I the only one who wished that money grew on trees?  Enough said.

5.  WARNING:  This one is gross.  So we have a 4 year old boy.  Because of health problems he's just now in big boy undies.  Well a week or so ago I went down in the basement for something and notices pee on a book that belonged to my daughter.  I threw it away not wanting to know how THAT happened.  Two days ago my 10 year old son came running up the stairs and told my that my 4 year old had peed on the sleeping bags.  WHAT THE??  Yep, sure enough he had to go so bad that he pulled his little pants down and peed right where he was.  That explained the whole book thing.  We had a little "chat" with him and so far, so good.  My 10 year old reminded me that he once got in trouble for peeing in his closet because he was so lazy.  UGGG...boys.

6.  I know...it's the top 5 but I had to add this one.  I have two boys with a VERY rare disease called Hirschsprung's Disease.   My oldest son had a colostomy placed when he was only 3 days old.  And my 4 year old wasn't diagnosed until last year.  He had 2 different colostomies.  Can we say nightmare?  My 3 year old biological nephew was just diagnosed with a form of Hirschsprung's.  It's crazy.  This is such a strange disease.  My husband and I were talking about it last night and I made a strange connection.  This is the 3rd family I know to have a son diagnosed who grew up in the Bay Area.  Hmmm...weird.

Until next time...
