5 on Friday

5Is it just me or does time seem to be moving faster and faster!  I can't believe another week has come and gone.  This week has definitely had some major ups and major downs!

Here are the top 5 or 6 or 7 for the week!

1.  It's my birfday and I'm gonna party like it's my birfday!  I have been spoiled rotten and feel kind of guilty about it.  Nah!  Just kidding.  It's an amazing feeling!  Thank you everyone for the bday wishes and gifts.  I really am overwhelmed with everything!

2.  My Bff, Audrey, gave us tickets to the Jazz game on Wed night.  The hubs and I were able to go and Audrey watched our kids.  We had such a great time!  It was the last game of the season and they won against the thuggets (Denver Nuggets but they are thugs so we call them the thuggets!).  Thank you Audrey!

3.  We gave our couch and love seat away yesterday.  They went to a family who has nothing!  Literally, nothing.  I also gave them a quilt stand and a coffee table.  Our new couches are being delivered today!  I can not wait to get them!

4.  On Sunday we performed a fireside in Tooele.  I had no idea that we'd be performing for my old stake.  It was so much fun to see so many familiar faces and to catch up with old friends.  Now when can I get that solo?

5.  I'm planning the coolest combined YM/YW activity for next week!  It's going to be a huge Easter egg hunt with a very special twist!  I'll post pictures next week.

6.  I was a guest blogger on one of my favorite blogs!  Thank you Jocelyn for that amazing opportunity!

7.  I know...it's supposed to be the top 5 but so many fun things happened this week!  On Saturday morning we took the kids to The Gateway so I could buy a new pair of shoes.  The weather was crappilicious (fun!  I made up a new word).  It was raining/snowing and it's an out door mall.  My 4 year old kept jumping in the puddles.  Guess who joined him?  ME!  It was a blast!  Then on Wed night as we were leaving the Jazz game it was pouring rain.  I mean POURING rain!  We had quite a bit of a walk to the car and instead of being upset about getting soaked to the bone we laughed the whole way to the car.  It's Friday now and I was able to hang my coat in the closet because it's finally dry.  I'm not kidding!  It took that long to dry!  I've decided that playing in the rain is a mighty fun thing!

Bottom 5

1.  Whenever I see a family member, friend or even a stranger hurting my heart hurts with them.  Yesterday Audrey took me out to lunch for my birthday and some drunk lady ruined it.  She was at the restaurant with 3 of her grand kids.  She had at least 3 shots and 1 beer just in the time it took us to order our food and get our appetizer.  She packed up the kids to leave and Audrey and I felt so uncomfortable.  We watched her walk to her car and let her 7ish year old grand daughter start the car.  I ended up going out there and talking to her.  I swear I was out there for about 45 minutes (sorry again Audrey).  She admitted she was an alcoholic and wanted to go back to AA.  She had some water to drink and by the end of the conversation I let her drive home with the promise that she would call me as soon as she got there.  She called and told me that I was right.  She shouldn't drink when she has her grand kids with her.  I was grateful for my past that day.  I was so grateful that I could help her.

2.  Why is it that when you are looking your worst you run into someone beautiful from your past?  We only had about an hour to get ready for the Jazz game on Wed night.  I honestly didn't care that my hair was a mess, I was wearing my glasses, and that I had no makeup on until I ran into one of the Jazz dancers, Mikell.  She and I used to work together at a bridal shop years ago.  She was skinny and beautiful with lots of makeup on.  And, well, I wasn't!

3.  I was a total brat on Tuesday night.  I learned a very good lesson that night.  I love you Steve and I LOVE my birthday present.  I really don't like that bratty side of me.  Luckily it's showing it's ugly head less and less.  That's progress, right?

4.  After 15 days of insurance hassles we finally have temporary insurance cards.  It's been a pain in the rump!

5.  I still have my sister and brother in-law's birthday presents here at my house.  Their birthdays were in Feb and March.  I feel terrible.  Especially when I opened the amazing present from my family today.  I'm sorry!  I think next year I'm just going to go on a major shopping spree and send everyone's presents in one foul swoop.  That way I won't have to feel like the world's worst relative anymore.  :(

I hope you all had an amazing week!  Thanks for reading and commenting (HINT, HINT)!!

If you have to have "lots of makeup" to be pretty, it aint beauty!
