Roses and Thorns - A Family Tradition

I believe strongly that families should eat at least one meal a day together.  I know that it builds strong bonds and that it builds lasting memories.

A couple of years ago we started something called "roses and thorns" at the dinner table.  Every night we go around the table and each person says the best part of their day and the worst part of their day.  When one of us has had a particularly rough day we can talk about it and support one another.
It's been such a blessing to our family.  Our 4 year old is so excited every night that we can barely get through saying the blessing on our food before he says, "I'll start!"

Try it with your family tonight!

this is cool...tonight Steve did "I Remember When..." and we had to remember something good that each person had done that day and give them a small choc chip each time we remembered something good they'd done. It was fun!
