Getting to Know Me!

I switching it up a bit this week.  Instead of answering questions I'm going to tell you about my awesome birthday weekend because it tells sooooo much about me and about what I love!

I am a brat.  I am.  I'm not proud of that fact.  I'm doing my best to change.  Baby steps, baby steps!  I've never looked forward to my birthday.  It just seems like it's just another day in the Warner household.  The kids fight, I still have to get them ready for school, I still have bills to pay, etc.  I think I just psyche myself out of all happiness and become a brat.  Again, not a proud Tami moment.

So last week I started gearing up for a let down.  I know, I know very bratty!  I snapped at my poor husband about the gift he was giving me.  Oh I'm so embarrassed typing this!  But then I stopped and totally thought about how that made HIM feel!  And then I felt terrible.  Here he was totally excited about this present and I wasn't.  But guess what?  It's the greatest present ever!  He replaced my flip with something even better!
It's a Kodak Playsport video camera!  It's shoots in 1080p HD!  It can take 5 MP stills and is waterproof up to 10 feet deep!  This thing is awesome!  I am a happy, happy girl!  Now I just need to buy a new purse that I can zip so it doesn't fall out and get lost!

After that whole fiasco I decided that I was going to just go with it.  I was going to just enjoy what Steve had planned and enjoy the day!  I've never felt comfortable celebrating me, you know?  Well I did this year!

On Friday night we went to the movies.  I absolutely LOVE going to the movies.  We decided to see "Hannah."  I can't even give this movie a half of a star.  It was terrible.  It completely lacked any sort of plot or climax.  Don't waste your money on the rental even!  Trust me.

After the movie Steve took me to one of my favorite stores called Paisley Poppy.  It's an amazing boutique.  He bought me two tea pots.  I love tea pots.  I love anything that has to do with tea!  I'm really not sure where the love for tea came from though.

On Saturday the Warner girls met up for lunch.  We met at 11:30 but the restaurant didn't open until 12.  So we just hung out and opened presents.  I was spoiled yet again!  Thank you ladies.

My in-laws took our kids overnight!  So after dropping them off the hubs and I drove downtown Salt Lake and went to the cutest little store, The London Market.  I was looking for tea for the tea party I'm hosting next Friday.  We walked next door to the little tea and pastry shop.  We bought a scone, hot cross bun and some pastries.  Yummy!  They were delicious!

I LOVE good food.  I love trying new foods too!  I even tried a chicken heart at dinner.  It was nasty.  I didn't consider that good food at all!

After dinner we drove to the video store.  I know what you are thinking!  And yes, people do still rent movies from the video store!  We enjoyed watching a movie without any interruptions!  We stayed up late and slept in even later!  I swear I could have slept in until one.

I was actually missing the kids by the time we picked them up.  The hubs said that was a good sign!  I adore the kids but it was really nice to have an evening (all night) alone!

So there's a glimpse into me...I'm a recovering brat (LOL), I love good food, I love tea, I love tea pots, I love watching movies, I love the hubs, I love my kids and I love my birthday!

Thank you to everyone who made my day and weekend so special!  I can't wait until next year!
