Where Things Stand

I had my appointment with the oncologist today. Here's where things stand. I have a follow up ultrasound on the 8th. They will check the cyst. If it's still there, she will remove it plus the ovary. This is no ordinary cyst. It's sepated and that can be a sign of ovarian cancer. No one thinks I have cancer at this point!!! If the cyst is gone she still wants to take a "peek" inside to see if there's other things going on. I could end up with a hysterectomy if my uterine lining has gone into the muscle. That's also a possiblity of what's wrong.

She also wants me to see a DI doc. Based on our family history she wants to rule out anything crazy with my GI tract. I didn't see that one coming. I would've never thought in a million years that I would also be referred to a GI doc. But I like that she's not taking any chances.

So we'll see what the ultrasound says. I have no other news at this point. It's crazy that we went in for some answers and left her office wondering where this journey will take us. I'll keep you posted.
